Aahana Kumra known for her part in the Alankrita Srivastava’s ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ and for playing Priyanka Gandhi in The Accidental Prime Minister, recently reveal to Zoom TV that while shooting an intimate scene, producer Prakash Jha’s presence on set made her uncomfortable.
She said he wasn’t her director for ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ and his remarks on her performance didn’t make her feel at easy. “I remember once Mr Jha walked in and there was a scene, where I am filming the sex that is happening. Then Mr Jha walked in on the set and he passed a remark and it was so uncomfortable to hear that from him.”
I just went to Alankrita (Srivastava) and said ‘he is not my director why he is on the set and why I have to hear a remark from him, with all due respect he is a producer,'” she added.
Later the director of the film Alankrita, politely asked the producer to leave and he obliged, “Alankrtia asked him to leave and he left. He understood that space. He understood the fact that we were not comfortable with him around. He just politely left and that’s really nice of him.”
Lipstick Under My Burkha known for its strong female leads was surrounded by several controversies and still managed to garner fame for a great story and direction.
Aahana’s next project is Shamshera which also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt.
