Winter is coming on April 24-and if recently released teaser is any indication- death(s) of our beloved characters is being scurried along.
The official Game of Thrones YouTube channel has shared a new, short teaser for the show. Though the clip is barely a minute long, the content is enough to wrench our already wary heart into further jitters.
Choosing to keep us befuddled about the fate of Jon Snow whom we last saw stabbed and lying in pool of his own blood, the teaser did a grand job of making us despair the bleakness that may encase the Seven Kingdoms.
The teaser opens within the House of Black and White, with unmoving faces of all notably dead and alive characters gilding the hall, voicing their most memorable quote. First up is Ned Stark (“The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword”), followed by his son, Robb Stark (“I’ve won every battle, but I’m losing this war”) and Caitlyn Stark (“Show them how it feels to lose what they love”). King Joffrey also makes an appearance (“Everyone is mine to torment”).
So far, everything seemed haughty and mighty. However, it is near the end of the teaser that we start shaking our collective heads in denial as we get to pin down Jon’s eerily blank visage up on the wall, paired alongside other dead faces, with quip of his own (“The long night is coming and the dead come with it”). However, viewers can seek solace in the fact that as Jon Snow completes his foreboding, the camera hovers across the face of Tyrion Lannister and down to a whole column of still-alive characters’ heads.
Is it sign of return from grave for one of most petted character or an indication of doom for all? Only time will tell.
Meanwhile, check out season 6 teaser:
