Washington D.C. [USA]: American actors Emma Roberts and Evan Peters have called it quits. A source told People that the couple called off their engagement after seven years of being together.
Rumours were doing the rounds after US Weekly and The Blast reported that Roberts was seen kissing actor Garrett Hedlund during an outing on Monday night. The duo was reportedly spotted during a dinner date and later sharing a kiss outside the restaurant.
Roberts and Peters met while shooting for the indie film ‘Adult World’. They began dating in the summer of 2012 and People confirmed their engagement in January 2014 after Peters popped the question over the holidays.
“It’s really amazing,” Peters told People in 2014 of working with his fiancee on Ryan Murphy’s horror anthology. “You’re at set and you’re in a city that you don’t really know that well. It’s nice to have your best friend there to go to dinner with and check out the city,” he added.
The two had previously called off their engagement in 2015 but rekindled their romance soon after that. The actors had also hit a rough patch during July 2013 when Roberts was arrested in connection with domestic violence in Montreal, Canada.
“It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding. Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple is working together to move past it,” their reps said in a joint statement back then.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Roberts will be next seen in ‘Paradise Hills’ and ‘The Hunt’. She has also lent her voice to one of the characters in ‘Ugly Dolls’. Peters will star in ‘Dark Phoenix’ and ‘I am Woman’.
On the other hand, Hedlund was last seen in Netflix’s ‘Triple Frontier’ alongside Ben Affleck and Oscar Isaac. He was in a relationship with Kirsten Dunst for four years before they called it quits in 2016.
