Sources confirm, “Prakash Jha has not only directed Amitabh in ‘Satyagraha’ but turned his stylist too. He went all over the market place in Delhi and Mumbai to purchase suitable clothes for him. Prakash wanted the look to be exactly matching to his thought process. Bachchan has donned ‘khadi kurtas’ that was contemplated by Jha.”

Ask Prakash about it, and he smilingly answers, “Well, as a director it is my job to find suitable clothes for my actors. I need to bring forth my vision alive.” We interrupt and quiz him about not shopping for Big B particularly? And with his eyes wide open and a pondering moment later, he just smiles and walks away.

When asked, how far does the title justify such aggressive promos of the film, the director shares, “Well, the film showcases the son and father relationship. Distrust, aggressive fights, etc however become part of a relationship. The film shows it all. However, the title ‘Satyagraha’ definitely is suitable to the film.”

“Being in the profession of cinema, I feel privileged to have been bestowed upon a chance to work here. Cinema is a medium, which brings up lively as well as historical happenings to the forefront. Also, with this medium we as makers are able to enlighten our audiences with some facts in real. The audiences can take away few interesting experiences along with socially relevant messages and at the same time be entertained by the film,” says Jha.

He does agree to the fact that he always has the same ensemble cast but confesses that it is more about suiting the character. “Kareena and Amrita are being associated to my film. Yes, working with some actors makes you feel comfortable. Also, they do suit my character and so I cast them often. I feel privileged to have Amitabh with me; it is indeed a great feeling to work with the icon. Every time I work with him, I am in awe of the new energies and enthusiasm that he exudes on the sets,” says the director who is well known for his unique brand of cinema.
