While on-screen kissing and lovemaking scenes are now considered as normal as acting, we list down seven Bollywood celebrity couples who at one point of time were not very comfortable by their respective partners performing such scenes on-screen.
We recently learned that Deepika and Ranveer have already decided to distance themselves from such scenes, it’s a known fact that Ayushmaan Khurrana’s wife was never happy with her husband kissing on screen in his debut film Vicky Donor.
While some couples state that how such scenes are part and parcel of the industry you are working in, below are the seven Bollywood married couples for whom on screen and lovemaking scenes were not cake walk.
Ranveer Singh–Deepika Padukone
While Deepika has already rubbished off talks about the couple not indulging in any intimate scenes post marriage, rumours are rife that the couple has decided to refrain themselves for any kissing or lovemaking scene at least for the time being. Let us also tell you that there is no smoke without fire as in past too like Deepika and Ranveer, many Bollywood celebrities have stopped doing such scenes after marriage.
Saif Ali Khan- Kareena Kapoor Khan
The coolest couple of B-town were once uncool when after tying the knot with each other they openly stated that they will add a no kissing policy in their contracts. However cut to 2016, we saw Kareena kissing Arjun in the film Ki and Ka. When asked her the reason about breaking the policy of no kissing, the actress said, “When we make certain statements we may mean something but a few years later down the line, as we grow older, wiser and more mature, our mindset, views and outlook to life changes too. So, if we said something then, we believed in it, today that has changed. When Saif and I got married there was a slight possessiveness and we decided let’s not do some things on screen now that we are married and yes, kissing was one of them. That happens, I think, with the most newly married couple.”
Aishwarya Rai- Abhishek Bachchan
While we don’t know about Abhishek, we are certain that the rest of the Bachchan clan, doesn’t like Aishwarya getting intimate on screen. For those unaware, there were strong rumours that Amitabh requested the makers of Dhoom 2 to chop off the kissing scene between Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya. However, since the film was barely few days away from the release, the scene was retained in the movie. Something similar news was going around during the release of Aae Dil Hai Mushkil where Ash and Ranbir had some intimate scenes. Even at that time, it was stated that how the whole Bachchan family was unhappy with the actress’ decision of doing such scenes.
Ayushmann Khurrana- Tahira Kashyap
Both Ayushmann and Tahira have stated in their respective interviews that how the latter was not happy when the former kissed onscreen in Vicky Donor. Ayushmann has said that it was the worst phase of their married life as Tahira who was also pregnant at that time created havoc when Ayushmann kissed Yami on screen. In her defence, Tahira said, “I think both of us were immature. He didn’t have the maturity to kind of hold my hand and tell me ‘It’s okay!’, especially when I am crazy because of my hormones. I was pregnant at that point in time. I also didn’t have the maturity to take it easy… this thing will get over. So, both of us lacked maturity at that point in time.”
John Abraham-Priya Runchal
Unlike other, John and Priya were never vocal about their uncomfortable stand relating to lovemaking or kissing scene. However, one look at John’s films post marriage and you can notice that the actor who has done some raunchy lovemaking scenes in his past, hasn’t performed even a mild lovemaking scene in films post wedlock.
Jay Bhanushali -Mahi Vij
Speculations were rife that Jay and Mahi’s marriage hit troubled waters when Jay performed the kissing and lovemaking scenes with Surveen Chawla in Hate Story 2. However, Mahi later refuted the rumours and stated that being an actor she understands that such scenes are normal to perform if it’s required in a film.
Gurmeet Choudhary- Debina Bonnerjee
Televisions most loved couple Gurmeet and Debina were in news for all the wrong reasons, when Gurmeet did some raunchy lovemaking scenes with Sana Khan in Wajah Tum Ho. It was stated that Debina created a big issue because of the scene, however, Gurmeet later stated that Debina has no problem with his lovemaking scenes as she being an actor understands the profession.
