Rangoli Chandel after attacking the Bhatt family last week found new members of the film fraternity to terrorise. Rangoli went after Deepika Padukone and made remarks about her suffering from depression.
Kangna Ranaut’s upcoming release ‘Mental Hai Kya’ title was objected by the Indian Psychiatric Society, while Deepika’s The Live Love Laugh Foundation (TLLL) expressed their concern on Twitter, “It is time we put an end to the use of words, imagery and/or the portrayal of persons with mental illness in a way that reinforces stereotypes. Many millions who suffer with mental illness in India already face tremendous stigma. Therefore, it is extremely important to be responsible and sensitive towards the needs of those suffering,” TLLL tweeted.
To which Rangoli responded with an attack on Deepika and boasting her sister’s achievements. Rangoli shared a series of tweets talking about mental health and getting her facts wrong about TLLL. She went on to day TLLL will prefer Kangana over Deepika after the film is out. Take a look:
Rangoli’s cringe worthy comment on depression upset many Twitter users who then slammed Kangana’s sister for remarks. Many found Rangoli’s statement has ignorant and distasteful in nature.
She also went on to share a new point of view to an old Kangana story, saying she had been called mental and bipolar by her silly ex which she is still fighting.
‘Mental Hai Kya’ produced by Ekta Kapoor also stars Rajkummar Rao in the lead role. The film will release on June 21.
