Deepika PADUKONE doesn’t judge a film on the crores it earns

The leading lady of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone confesses that she is just not enamoured by big names or big banners but chooses films wherein she can contribute to her onscreen character. She also talks about ‘Finding Fanny Fernandes’ produced by Saif Ali Khan’s Illuminati Films. It is an English/ Konkani satirical short film, directed and written by Homi Adajania.

“Right from ‘Cocktail’, I really learnt that it’s not about how many crores the film makes. ‘Cocktail’ wasn’t a 100 crore film but I gained a lot from that film. So, it really depends on the character that you are playing and the impact that you can leave by doing a film,” shares Deepika who seems to have mastered the art of leaving an impression on the audience going by the sky rocketing box office collection of her recent flicks.
Talking about ‘Finding Fanny Fernandes’, she reveals that the shoot is complete and says, “I have finished shooting for it. It’s an English film set in Goa and I just came back two days ago.”
The movie has Arjun Kapoor opposite her and just when we thought how different this pairing would be, the actress confessed, “For me it’s a little strange to be working with him as I have known him for many years. I have known him since he was a fat kid. He was a friend for I never thought he would become an actor.” She further clarified, “I am extremely proud and I feel very happy for him. The fact that he has got into such a great shape and his first film did so well. He is growing with every film.”
Rumours are that the actress is going to share parts of the profits of the film, but when asked, she said, “I am not really comfortable talking about this. These are not things that we discuss. I don’t ask you how much salary you get. So it’s a little irrelevant and doesn’t matter.”
‘Finding Fanny Fernandes’ stars Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Kapur, Naseeruddin Shah, Ranveer Singh in a cameo role and Kevin D’Mello.
