Rajinikanth’s 2.0 has finally hit the screens and fans have gone in their celebratory zone to welcome their Thalaiva. No matter the cost or time of the film, Rajini’s fans will go to any lengths to worship their superstar. This time around, the makers have put in more than we could imagine in order to get their best final product.
The film is a sequel to Robot which was released in the year 2012, also featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead role. The new combo of Rajini and Akshay Kumar as the antagonist and Amy Jackson as Chitti- the Robot’s new love interest have raised expectations from this second instalment. While the film is expected to break all records, one needs to consider the fact that the budget of the film is Rs 543 crore, making it the most expensive Indian film produced. In a running time of 140 minutes, one second of the reel costs around Rs 7 lakh, which makes 1 minute around Rs 4 crore. That is the same as Priyanka Chopra’s entire wedding budget! Here’s the meme that highlighted it.
2.0 is decked up for its widest release among 10000 screens worldwide, of which 2500 screens are for his foreign fans and the rest of 7500 screens will be in India.
