Confirmed! Punjabi singer Harrdy Sandhu to play former cricketer Madan Lal in Ranveer Singh’s ‘83’

Punjabi singer Harrdy Sandhu has been roped in to play former cricketer Madan Lal in upcoming sports biopic 83. The movie also stars Ranveer Singh who’s playing Kapil Dev in the movie. Earlier, rumours were strong that Harrdy will be in the film but there was no official confirmation. Now, renowned movie critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the news on his Twitter handle. “Harrdy Sandhu is #MadanLal in #83TheFilm… Stars Ranveer Singh as #KapilDev… Directed by Kabir Khan… Presented by Reliance Entertainment… Produced by Madhu Mantena, Vishnu Induri, Kabir Khan,” he wrote.

Harrdy Sandhu has many hit numbers on his name which includes Soch (2013), Joker (2014) and many others.

Many of you may not know but Harrdy started his career as a cricketer and he played alongside with Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara. But due to an injury, he had to part ways with the career and went on to become a musician.

Talking about the film, the makers are introducing the leads one by one. As of know South actor Chirag Patil will be seen playing the role of his father, Sandeep Patil, in the film. Apart from him, Saqib Saleem Sahil Khattar, Ammy Virk and Pankaj Tripathi will also be seen in pivotal roles.

The movie is directed by Kabir Khan and it will give fans an inside account of the 1983 World Cup.
