Ayushmann Khurrana has got himself into legal trouble, as Kamal Kant who has worked as an assistant director in the film Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana has filed a case against him in the Bombay High Court on Friday, for stealing his idea from his project, Wig.
For those unaware, last year in December, Stree producer Dinesh Vijan announced his next project, Bala which stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar. The film which will be directed by Stree director Amar Kaushik is about a man who is suffering from premature balding. Now Kamal has stated that it was his idea which he discussed it with Ayushmann when he visited the sets of Bareilly Ki Barfi.
According to a report in NBT, Kamal visited the sets of Bareilly Ki Barfi to meet Rajkummar Rao. However he also met Ayushmaan and shared the idea of a man struggling with premature balding. Later the duo even had a chat about the same topic on WhatsApp. However the talks were short lived and after some days neither Ayushmann nor Kamal were in touch with each other. When Kamal heard about Ayushmann starring in a film based on premature balding, he was in huge shock. Kamal first send legal notice to Ayushmann, Producer Dinesh and director Amar. However when the trio didn’t responded to his notice, Kamal was left with no option but to file a case against them.
On being quipped about the whole matter, Amar said “I have no idea about all this. We have been writing the story since 4-5 months. The two characters might be similar, I don’t know. Neither I know his script nor I have ever met him. There can be many stories about a bald man. I have been writing my story since day one. I don’t know anything else. As far as the case is concerned, the producers will look into it.”
