Enforcement Directorate has summoned actress Yami Gautam to record her statement in connection with the alleged irregularities under Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), the agency officials informed on Tuesday. The agency has asked the actress to appear before them next week.
According to the agency sources, an amount over Rs 1 crore had come in the bank account of the actress from a foreign based entity and FEMA guidelines were not followed after which the bank had informed ED about the said transaction.
The ED then initiated a probe under the provisions of FEMA. This is the second summon to the actress.
The first summon was issued to her last year, but she failed to visit the ED office due to lockdown restrictions, an official informed.
