Watch: Anupam Kher gets a reality check as a man in Himachal Pradesh fails to recognise him, says 'It was funnily heartbreaking'

Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher recently got a 'reality check' after a resident of Himachal Pradesh failed to recognise him.

The actor, who is currently enjoying the time in his hometown Shimla, took to social media to share a video of a resident who didn't recognise the actor during his morning walk.

In the video, Kher can be seen asking the person if he knows the actor's name. He also removed his mask so that he can see him properly. However, the man named Gyan Chand failed to recognise the actor.

Kher has been in the Hindi film industry for decades and has acted in over 500 films, making him one of the most popular actors in the country and even internationally. However, there are always exceptions.

In the video Kher can also be heard saying, "It's a good moment for me. Chullu bhar paani mein doob sakta hoon is samay main."

He then asked the man, "Filme dekhte hain aap (Do you watch films)?" and the man replied "kam dekhta hoon main (I watch few films)". At this, Anupam is seen giving a shocked reaction.

The video ends with Anupam saluting Gyan Chand.

Sharing the video, Anupam Kher wrote, "Reality Check. I always proudly announce to the world that I have done 518 films. And I presume that everybody (at least in India) knows me. But Gyan Chand ji innocently shattered my confidence. He had no idea who I was. It was funnily heartbreaking and yet beautifully refreshing! Thank you, my friend for helping me keep my feet on ground."
