Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker was left amused as the Delhi High Court's virtual hearing on Juhi Chawla's challenge to the rollout of 5G in the country was repeatedly interrupted by rogue singers on Wednesday.
Among the songs sung from her films were Ghoonghat Ki Aad Se, Meri Banno Ki Aayegi Baraat and Lal Lal Honthon Pe.
Juhi Chawla, who was a top Bollywood star in the 1990s, had shared a link of the court hearing on social media, urging people to join.
Juhi has petitioned the court against 5G on the grounds that it could have serious, irreversible effects on people and cause permanent damage to the environment.
Reacting to the news, Swara wrote in a series of tweets, "I love this country."
"Ahahahahahaha! I love this country a little more!!!" she tweeted, reacting to the news that the hearing was interrupted for the third time.
The Veere Di Wedding actress then chanced upon a video of a man singing Meri Banno Ki Aayegi Baraat from Juhi's film Aaina during the hearing.
"OMG there is a video! I cannot describe adequately the kinda joy I am experiencing watching this!!!!!!" Swara tweeted.
On Wednesday, Justice J R Midha, who was hearing the case, asked the man to 'please mute'. However, after repeated disruptions, he directed the court staff to identify the offender and initiate contempt proceedings against him. He also asked the information technology department of the court to identify the person and share details with the Delhi Police for necessary action.
Meanwhile, the lawsuit by Juhi claims that if the telecom industry's plans for 5G becomes a reality, "no person, animal, bird, insect and plant on earth will be able to avoid exposure, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to levels of RF radiation that are 10x to 100x times greater than what exists today.
