Post Zaira Wasim’s statement to quit Bollywood reports emerged stating the actress was possibly under pressure for taking such a decision. A tape revealed by a leading news portal shows one Kashmiri cleric shame Zaira and an eight year old Kick boxing Champion Tajamul, claiming the two have shamed their community for allegedly going beyond the lines of what Islamic religion permits.
As per earlier reports post her debut in Bollywood Zaira’s family had been living in terror due to the social stigma and breaking religion bounds. They even asked for government accommodation and protection but received no help.
Raveena Tandon who at first criticised the actress for her regressive thoughts posts the reports took to Twitter to condemn such pressure from religious fanatics.
She shared a series of tweets showing support for the actress and wishing her the best. Raveena wrote, "If this is true and the reason for her to quit,if she was or is under pressure, then I do feel sad for the girl. Was she forced into writing the long statement by radicals out of fear? She was a role model to so many youngsters with dreams and inspirations that they could achieve."
Another tweeted read, "I wish her luck and strength After seeing this,I now regret my first immediate tweet after reading her statement.Maybe she was forced to write what was unacceptable to people like me who love films, cinema, the industry, that I was born into.Deleting the tweet that now sounds harsh." Zaira Wasim has apparently gone into hiding and refuses to meet people.
