Nawazuddin Siddiqui's wife Aaliya has reportedly joined Twitter after rumours of her affair with Viacom executive Peeyush Pandey made headlines in the media.
Slamming those who reported falsely about her personal life, she wrote, “This is Aliya Siddiqui. I am forced to put the truth concerning me on Twitter so that there is no miscommunication. Let the truth not be silenced by misuse and abuse of power. Truth cannot be bought or be manipulated with. To begin with let me clarify that I am not into "ANY RELATIONSHIP" with any MAN; and any media report which make such claims, are absolutely false.”
She also claimed that the reports have used an "altered" picture of her with Pandey in their articles. “It appears that some section of the media have manipulated with my photograph to make such ridiculous claims to divert attention. I am now learning to stand up and speak for myself, be strong, for the sake of my children. I have not done any wrong till date and therefore I am not worried. However I do not appreciate anyone harming my reputation or character to save someone else. Money can't buy truth”, she added.
Meanwhile, Pandey also refuted the rumours in an interaction with Bombay Times calling them "baseless" and "ridiculous". He maintained that he's already in a relationship and will pursue a legal route against the reports. He added that his partner is aware of the truth and is also friends with Aaliya.
On Monday, Aaliya sent the actor a legal notice demanding a divorce and maintenance from him over issues related to their married life.
In a recent interview, Aaliya's lawyer Abhay Sahay said that the legal notice was sent to Nawazuddin on May 7 through email and WhatsApp, but he is yet to respond, reported timesofindia.com.
Nawazuddin and Aaliya got married in 2009. They are parents to daughter Shora and son Yaani.
"I would not like to get into the details of the notice regarding what are the contents and what are the allegations, but let me tell you that the allegations are quite serious and those are very sensitive to Mr Siddiqui as well as his family members," Aaliya's lawyer said in a video message shared with Zee News.
Meanwhile, Nawazuddin and his family have been quarantined in his house in Budhana in Muzaffarnagar district.
