'Jaan se maar denge tumko': Sharad Kelkar reveals getting death threats for his role in ‘The Family Man’

Bollywood actor Sharad Kelkar, best known for his roles in "Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela", "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior" and "Laxmii", got a chance to move beyond negative roles in the Manoj Bajpayee-led "The Family Man" web series.

Kelkar stars as Arvind, a friend-turned-colleague to Priyamani's Suchi in a recurring role in the series. He is shown to be in love with Suchi's character.

Needless to say, he is sort of an intruder to fans who are rooting for Manoj and Priyamani as they struggle to save their marriage in the second season.

Recently, in an interaction with SpotboyE, Sharad said, “I get these messages daily like ‘Srikant and Suchi ke beech mat aao, jaan se maar denge tumko’, and I get a lot of threats too. So, I have got used to it.”

He says that the audiences' attachment to the characters is a sign that the show is good.

The actor further said that the reason Suchi is behaving like this is because what happened between her and Arvind at Lonavala -- which remains a mystery -- coincided with her marital issues, and professional dilemmas.

In an earlier interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sharad said that "so many people believed that I am the terrorist and was behind Operation Zulfiqar in the first season."

He also said that "people think why I was in the show in the first place."

He credited the discourse to the strength and beauty of the writing, which he said has engaged fans.

Directed by Raj and DK, “The Family Man 2” returned for a second season on Amazon Prime Video. A third season has also been teased.

Manoj Bajpayee, who plays the lead role of Srikant in the show, recently said in an interview that the story is ready, but the third season will take close to two years to arrive.

The series also stars Samantha Akkineni, Sharib Hashmi, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Sunny Hinduja, Shahab Ali, Ashlesha Thakur and Vedant Sinha in pivotal roles.
