Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Entertainment’, which was released last Friday, earned 31 crore net at the Box Office over the weekend. According to Box Office India reports, “Entertainment had a poor weekend of around 31 crore nett but the trend was decent.” But reports suggest that the film did well on Sunday.
BO India says, “Entertainment fared best in Delhi/UP, East Punjab and CI. Gujarat also showed a very good jump on Sunday though many circuits performed well below the mark even with growth on Sunday.”
The movie is named after a Golden Retriever, who plays a key character in the film. It’s noted that ‘Entertainment’ has been supported by animal-rights activist and Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi. What’s more, during the promotions Tammannah Bhatia, who plays the female lead character in the film, is said to have even adopted a pup!
Talking about the BO earnings trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Entertainment Fri 11.16 cr (revised figure), Sat 11.53 cr. Total: (Rs.) 22.69 cr nett. India biz”. While trade analyst Komal Nahta wrote, “entertaining but
the implausibility of the drama is a minus point”.
‘Entertainment’ is a slapstick comedy, directed by debutant duo Sajid-Farhad and produced by Ramesh S. Taurani of Tips Industries Ltd and Jayantilal Gada. The film also stars Prakash Jha, Sonu Sood, Krushna Abhishek and Johnny Lever in prominent roles.
