Bigg Boss 11 winner and TV actress Shilpa Shinde on Tuesday joined Congress party in presence of Sanjay Nirupam, President of Mumbai Congress Committee and party leader Charan Singh Sapra. According to buzz, Shilpa can contest Lok Sabha elections in Mumbai.
Shilpa was a part of the famous sitcom ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai’ where she played the character of Angoori Bhabhi. However, she opted out from the show when there was a tiff between her and makers, although her exit from the show was controversial and this landed her in trouble over breach of contract.
Not just the producer’s of BhabiJi, Shilpa was also at loggerheads with Cine and TV Artistes’ Association. Shilpa had even filed a defamation case against the producer, CINTAA and Indian Films and TV producers’ council (IFTPC). Before entering the Bigg Boss house she also called the CINTAA people a mafia which ruins actor’s career.
After leaving the Bhabi JI, Shilpa was away from TV for almost one and a half year. Though, Shilpa did an item number in ‘Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi’. In the video, her weight became the talking point for many and she was trolled on social media for the same.
Earlier, the actress was slammed for commenting on MeToo, where she said that there is no such thing as rape in the entertainment industry, and everything is ‘a total give and take policy’.
