Big B hopes for growth of football in india

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan says that he is hopeful that the popularity of football will increase in the country in future. It’s noted that the veteran actor was spotted in the ongoing football Indian Super League (ISL), where he had gone to support son Abhishek’s team ChennaiyinFC. What’s more, the 72-year-old actor believes that such a tournament would help the sport reach to newer heights.

Talking about supporting such tournaments and supporting sports, Big B wrote on his blog, “I do believe that this shall gradually grow into a most interesting and captivating sport in the years to come..”

What’s more, the actor was spotted cheering for the team along with Tamil superstar Rajnikanth and Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.

Speaking of it, he further wrote, “In distinguished company, Rajnikanth and Sachin, and the glory of victory by our team ChennaiyinFC has added that extra zing in our moods and in our steps. The Chennai cheers have been astounding and welcome, the Football fever catches on gradually and the enthusiasm shows..”

Meanwhile, Abhishek’s team Chennaiyin FC beat Kerala Blasters FC in an ISL match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday. Congratulating the team after their win, Sr Bachchan posted on micro blogging site Twitter, “WE WON …!! Thank you Chennai… you were marvellous! And the team excellent! Thank you Rajnikanth for coming to cheer our team.”
