Bharat: Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra to shoot for partition scenes in Punjab

Salman Khan is all set to start shooting of film ‘Bharat’, which also stars Priyanka Chopra. The film is being directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and is an adaptation of the Korean Movie, ‘Ode to my Father’. The first schedule of the shoot will begin next month in Punjab. Salman and Priyanka are going to shoot the partition scenes in Punjab, which will be completed in 15 days.

A source revealed to a leading daily, “The idea is to make the most significant event of our country extremely real. The set will transport the audiences to the times of the Partition. Ali and his team went scouting in 45 villages in Punjab to lock the exact location where Salman will film these scenes.”

“Kila Raipur, Gujjarwal, Bilga and Ghungrana are some of the villages where they have done a recce so far. He is yet to decide on the village that will be the starting point of Bharat’s Punjab schedule,” the source further said. Meanwhile, Priyanka has recently completed shooting of her two Hollywood films- ‘A Kid Like Jake’ which will be released in June this year, and ’Isn’t it Romantic?’ which is slated to release in February 2019.

Ali Zafar had earlier revealed that the film ‘Bharat’ will cover a span of seventy years of Indian history and will start from the partition. It will showcase the life of a man as he lives through these historical events. Bharat is set to hit the theatres during Eid in 2019.
