Bengaluru: Actress Sonali Kulkarni says being part of 2014 Marathi film “Dr Prakash Baba Amte – The Real Hero” was a turning point in her career. The film was a biopic on the lives of Dr Prakash Baba Amte, the son of the great social worker Baba Amte, and his wife Mandakini Amte. It also starred Nana Patekar and Mohan Agashe. “The Baba Amte film has been the turning point of my career because I could meet the Amte family. I could see their work in close quarters.

The Marathi version was a huge success. The Hindi version of the same film is due to release this year,” Sonali told PTI. When asked about her presence in regional movies besides Bollywood films, Sonali said, “I feel really proud that I have been very active during my pregnancy. I did films like ‘Deool’, ‘Singham’ (Hindi) and ‘Good Road’ (Gujarati).”
