Amole’s next on true grit
Amole’s next on true grit

Amole Gupte’s ‘Hawaa Hawaai’ is the first ever film based on inland skating. The filmmaker scripted his son’s dream into 22 drafts, which finally got carved into ‘Hawaa Hawaai’.

Partho Gupte was always passionate about learning skating, and started skating from the age of 4. He always forced his parents to accompany him to strap him up. That initially intrigued Amole decided to take the initiative and he decided to pen it down in 2008.

‘Hawaa Hawaai’ stars Saqib Saleem who will be seen mentoring Partho as his coach in the film. Partho, on the other hand will get his share of dreams to live through the film.

About skating, Amole says, “Skating is an expensive sport as a pair of inland skates could cost more than a bike. But I saw the grit of the sport and wanted to make a film on it as it will be a first on celluloid internationally and skating is Formula One. Either you are on four wheels in a Ferrari or you are the Ferrari.”

Partho was last seen in ‘Stanley Ka Dabba’ and was appreciated for his performance. The child actor was rewarded with many awards as well. Saqib Saleem was last seen in Karan Johar’s tale in ‘Bombay Talkies’ and is all set for ‘Hawaa Hawaai’ which would hit the theatres on May 9, 2014.

Amol Gupte has won many accolades for ‘Taare Zameen Par’ for his excellent writing and this would be his third film which would be a child’s story which is not just a child’s play – all of us have seen that in his previous projects.

The director, who has even acted in films like ‘Kaminey’, ‘Phas Gaye Re Obama’, ‘Bheja Fry 2’ would be seen as a villain in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham 2’ with Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor.
