Yesterday was chaotic for Priyanka Chopra fanatics as the reports of her being engaged to singer Nick Jonas surfaced. With all the hullabaloo in motion, it was Bharat director Ali Abbas Zafar who tweeted the news of Piggy Chops walking out of the film. Although we’re happy for the former Miss World finding love, the producer of Bharat has a rather different take on the whole thing.
Early Priyanka has tweeted, “Very happy to be a part of #Bharat and see all of u on set!! @beingsalmankhan @atulreellife @aliabbaszafar #Eid2019.”
Priyanka and Nick have been dating for a couple of months and have visited each other’s families too, which are probably a part of sealing the deal for their engagement which took place on PC’s birthday July, 18.
Director Ali Abbas Zafar broke the news in his tweet as, “Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special, she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her … Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life”
Salman Khan who is also a part of the film had his brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri’s Reel Life Productions co-producing Bharat. The CEO of the company, Nikhil Namit told Mid-Day, “Priyanka told us that she had to exit due to her engagement, two days ago. It was a little unprofessional of her to do it so suddenly.”
Bharat is now considering Jacqueline Fernandez and Katrina Kaif for the role. A source informed Mid-Day, “Priyanka had been in talks with the Bharat team over the past two weeks about how she may have to opt out for personal reasons. Sensing Priyanka’s iffy attitude, Salman initiated talks with Katrina during their Dabangg Reloaded Tour in the US. Other names – including Jacqueline- are also being tossed around. But Katrina is likely to give her nod as soon as she returns from London.”
