Ajay Devgn just released the trailer of his next romantic comedy ‘De De Pyar De’, which also featured Alok Nath. While there have been actors who have chosen not to work with other actors or filmmakers who have been accused of sexual harassment during MeToo, fans were unhappy to see the veteran actor in the film.
Alok Nath in 2018 had been accused of rape by writer-director Vinta Nanda. Other actors like Sandhya Mridul and Amyra Dastur, singer Sona Mohapatra and Nath’s co-star Navneet Nishan had also shared their harassment experiences.
Ajay who turned 50 yesterday, received backlash from displeased Twitter fans. While some said shame on you, others asked for an explanation.
During the trailer launch of the film, when producer Luv Ranjan was asked to comment on his choice to work with the actor, Ajay intervened saying: “This is not the right place to talk about it. Jinki aap baat kar rahe hai woh film uske pehle complete hui (the film was complete before the allegations surfaced against the person).”
IANS, post trailer launch had reached out to Alok Nath for a comment when he said: “I don’t want to talk anything about De De Pyaar De.”
Luv Ranjan’s romantic comedy, ‘De De Pyaar De’ which also stars Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh is directed by Akiv Ali.
