Ever since the news broke of Shah Rukh Khan opting out of Rakesh Sharma biopic, the makers have started hunting for a new actor. Earlier reports suggested that actor Vicky Kaushal is being considered for the role. However, now a new report in BollywoodLife, says that Rajkummar Rao is another name in the running for the lead role in the film titled Saare Jahaan Se Achha.
The source told BL, “The character demands a performer who can pull it off very well. Vicky Kaushal and Rajkummar Rao both have what it takes to play this character.”
Before Shah Rukh Aamir was going to play the lead role, but the actor chose to walk out and the reason is still not known.
Meanwhile, Vicky’s current release URI, has crossed 100 crore mark at box office and still counting. Even Rajkummar Rao’s last release ‘Stree’ was a hit at box office, and the actor received good response for his acting.
Talking about Shah Rukh Khan, his last release ‘Zero’ with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma tanked at the box office and couldn’t do the expected business. Hopefully, the actor is going to be part of Don Franchise which is made by Farhan Akahtar.
