Kangana Ranaut who made headlines and gathered success for her directorial debut ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ is about to announce her next project. The actress is currently busy shooting for Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s ‘Panga’ while enjoying the streets of Delhi.
While talking to DNA Kangana revealed bits about new project as a filmmaker, she said, “I’m on the verge of announcing my next directorial venture. It’s an action film — an epic drama. It has taken a lot of my time. Currently, we are putting everything in order, but we have locked the script. We’ll be doing a photoshoot, soon after, which we plan to release the poster, too.”
She also revealed the film is based on a real story which she was fascinated by her and will be different than what has been done on the big screen so far. Talking about the film to be made on big scale she confessed usually it is hard to get desired budget for a women oriented film, but Manikarnika’s success lets her tap into higher funds.
She added, “There are a lot of great stories to be told and actresses today are bringing a lot of business, too. I’m happy with the way Manikarnika worked for me — as an actor and also as a director. Now is the right time to start work on my second directorial project.”
Currently shooting and training for Panga, Kangana in Delhi is enjoying her time on and off the sets. Director Ashiwin Iyer has been sharing some BTS on her social accounts.’Panga’, a sports drama based on the like of a kabaddi player also stars Jassi Gill, Richa Chadha, and Neena Gupta. The film will hit screens in Jan 2020.
