Seems like Bollywood’s perfectionist Aamir Khan has a new responsibility on his shoulders now! We had reported yesterday that the superstar is in Nepal to promote child nutrition. And now we came to know that Aamir has been appointed as UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassador for South Asian region! Apparently Karin Hulshof, the Regional Director of UNICEF South Asia, announced the 49-year-old actor as the Goodwill Ambassador during a programme in the Kathmandu yesterday.
It’s known that Aamir had visited a health post at Pakadi Village in Kapilvastu district yesterday where as a part of the event he promoted nutrition for children. While interacting with the local health workers and volunteers, the actor said, “Not only women, every member of the family should get united in their efforts to fight malnutrition. We can’t be free from the problems of malnutrition if we are not united.”
Aamir Khan visited Kathmandu on Tuesday to take part in UNICEF’s nutrition programme in Kapilvastu after which he also visited Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha on Wednesday. The perfectionist is also said to have met the Prime Minister of Nepal Sushil Koirala at his residence at Baluwatar and discussed about malnutrition. The actor’s three-day trip to Nepal ended on October 9.
