Ashutosh Gowariker and A R Rahman’s friendship isn’t new. We’ve seen them work together from LAGAAN, then SWADES, JODHA AKBAR and now they’ve come back to create magic for MOHENJO DARO.
Ashutosh Gowariker describes his experience of working with Rahma as nothing short of a rewarding experience and he also credits Rahman for making the film sound exotic. Rahman has also sung a track, Tu Hai, in the upcoming Hrithik Roshan-starrer movie. Opposite Hrithik Roshan will be debutant Pooja Hegde.
The Academy Award winning musician also worked with Gowariker on his TV show Everest. “It has been a rewarding experience as we both got the chance to enter an entirely different space and time. We had to build a lot from imagination and we did that after doing research and consulting archaeologists about the possibilities and probabilities of this period which does not get categorised as history but as pre-history.
“I stayed within the findings from the excavations and the artifacts, while creating a make-believe world and Rahman has helped shape that world beautifully, exotically and believably,” Gowariker said.
Produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Sunita Gowariker, Mohenjo Daro is slated to release on August 12.
