Segaon (Bhagwanpura): Administrative responsible for election in Bhagwanpura assembly constituency in Khargone district took a sigh of relief after villagers from Jiratpura village under Segaon polling booth no 10 turned up to vote. Earlier, upset with lack of development activities in their village, they had decided to boycott polls. They announced that no road means no vote from them. After their announcement, both the party leaders and administrative officials thronged to their door steps and convinced them to vote.
After their assurance of development and more facilities in the future, they revoked boycott decision and participated in the voting. As per the report, out of total 5,027 voters, 3,856 villagers cast their vote which is around 76.71 per cent. Notably, Bhagwanpura assembly constituency was in the news after Congress rebel Kedar Dabar decided to contest elections as independent candidate after his party ignored him.
