The University Grants Commission has stated that students already admitted to the four-year Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) programme during the academic year 2013-14 only by the various colleges under the University of Delhi many continue in this programme, but its duration will now be three years.
The official press release stated that this has been clarified as, following the withdrawal of the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) by the University, the students have expressed apprehension regarding the nomenclature and duration of the programme.
“This matter has been considered by the by the UGC, and taking into account the interest of the students admitted to the 4-year BMS programme during 2013-14 by the various colleges under the University of Delhi,” the release says, following it with the course of action.
According to this course of action, for this purpose, the colleges which admitted students to this programme, “may, wherever required, obtain appropriate approval of the regulatory bodies such as the UGC and the AICTE and ensure that students admitted in the programme are not put to any disadvantage.” The UGC has advised the University accordingly.
