According to reports by the Prosecutors General Office in Ukraine, bombing and shelling by Russian forces in Ukraine amid the war have led to the damage and destruction of many educational institutes in the country.
The report said that the attacks by Russian armed forces have so far damaged 2,061 educational institutions, 213 of which have been completely destroyed.
It further reveals that the Russia-Ukraine war has led to the death of around 339 children in Ukraine, with some 611 being injured.
“These numbers are not final as work is underway to establish them in places of active hostilities and in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories," the Prosecutor's Office further stated.
According to the Prosecutor's General Office, the majority of the children were injured in Donetsk (335), followed by Kharkiv (179), Kyiv (116), Chernihiv (68), Luhansk (55), Kherson (52), Mykolaiv (48), Zaporizhzhia (31) and Sumy (17).
