Punjab: State Minister for Medical Education and Research Chetan Singh Jauremajra said here on Monday that the Punjab government had approved the creation of 25 more seats in the Government Medical Colleges of Patiala and Faridkot.
He claimed that the health and education sectors, which are the two main areas of concern, are being improved by the administration, which is why more seats have been added to both medical colleges under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
There are plans to establish a medical college in each district.
The authorities have been ordered to start classes at the medical colleges in Sangrur, Hoshiarpur, and Kapurthala the next academic year.
He continued by saying that free medications should be given to patients as soon as possible in the hospitals run by the medical colleges.
