NTA declares JEE-Main results, Mumbai resident ranks 13th in India

The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-Main) results late on Monday night. Students can check their results on the JEE’s official website,  jeemain.nic. Twenty-four students scored a perfect 100 in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main for admission into engineering colleges. Out of which Kandivli resident Ankit Misra has ranked first in Maharashtra and has an all-India rank (AIR) of 13.

While four top scorers are from Rajasthan and Telangana each, three are from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh have two top scorers each. The remaining top scorers are from Delhi, Karnataka, Haryana, and Punjab. For the first time, the JEE-Main was conducted two times this year in January and April in online mode.

According to Hindustan Times, 9.35 lakh candidates registered for the second phase of JEE-Main exam, out of which 8.81 lakh appeared for the exam held between April 7 and 20. The first phase, held in January, saw approximately 9.29 lakh registrations, of which 8.64 lakh had appeared for the exam.  Ankit Misra told the leading daily,  “Since I’d already scored 100 percentile in the first phase, I didn’t appear for the second. My focus is now on performing well in JEE Advanced.”
