Rajasthan: Satish Poonia, the leader of the Rajasthan BJP, has requested Ashok Gehlot, the state's chief executive, to make sure that classes are also offered in Hindi in the schools that will soon become Mahatma Gandhi English Medium Schools.

The families in Rajasthan who want their children to pursue education in Hindi medium are compelled to relocate their children to distant schools as a result of the widespread conversion of schools located in villages into English medium schools. In a letter to the Chief Minister, Poonia said that many girls are failing because they are unable to travel to faraway schools.

The state BJP president pleaded with the Chief Minister to make sure that classes are offered in Hindi as well in the institutions that are being converted to English medium.

Poonia stated in his letter that he wants the Chief Minister to be aware of the "crisis that has emerged in Rajasthan schools after their conversion into Mahatma Gandhi English medium schools."

According to him, a lot of parents "plan to shift their children into Hindi medium schools, however it is difficult for them to admit their wards in Hindi medium schools as student registration is limited to 255 for classes 1 to 8 in these schools."
