Mumbai: After 3 years in India the US Consulate celebrated the 4th July in person. The ceremony also marked the 75 th anniversary of Indian American diplomatic relations, marking the milestone in billateral relationship. On the occasion Consul General David J. Ranz will also bid farewell to his time in India.
Education remains one of our top focuses stated the Consul General.
"We created a record by releasing 100,000 student visas last year, it is no doubt we'll cross that milestone this year, the only question is by how much," he added.
About 220 thousand Indians make up for the US students. "We hope to double the visas in the coming year," stated Consul General Ranz.
The three fold purpose of education remains to exchange culture, bring in business and have students return to their country with diverse knowledge.
"Education ties help people to people ties between the two countries start much earlier," said Chargè D’Affaires Patricia Lacina.
"These baseline ties generate great dividends for both parties," she added.
Apart from education, health security remain the top priorities for the nations stated the officials.
