New Zealand and South Africa will clash at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham today. This is Edgbaston’s debut match in World Cup 2019.

The weather would not hinder much of today's’ play, much to the delight of World Cup fans. However, spells of light rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in the early hours of the day. After that, the clouds would cover the sky with light winds making the surroundings a bit chilly. The temperature would hover around 15-17 degree Celsius, not making it difficult for the players to play the match.

Since, its Edgbaston’s first match in World Cup 2019, the pitch is devoid of any grass but it may have trapped the moisture underneath, given the surrounding weather conditions. The pitch is good for batting and both the teams would like to put a good total on the scoreboard. However, extra care needs to be taken to keep the outfield as dry as possible owing to the unpredictable weather.
