Mumbai: Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers struck fluent half-centuries as South Africa outclassed Mumbai Cricket Association XI (MCA XI) by eight wickets in their final World Twenty20 warm-up match at the Brabourne Stadium here on Tuesday.

Batting first, MCA XI posted 188/4 in 20 overs, thanks to Akhil Herwadkar’s 45-ball 61. In reply, skipper Du Plessis (65 retired not out) and De Villiers (52 not out) helped South Africa chase down the total comfortably to score 190/2 in 17 overs.

Chasing a target of 189, Hashim Amla (38) and Quinton de Kock (19) gave the Proteas a flying start.
