Sourav Ganguly again gave his opinion on India’s dream squad for World Cup 2019. According to Ganguly, there is an emerging talent in the current Royal Challengers Bangalore team who should be taken to World Cup. Shockingly, Ganguly took Navdeep Saini’s name to be included in World Cup squad, stressing the India will need pacers in England.
While Mohammad Shami, Bhuvneshnar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah are almost confirmed pacers to fly for World Cup, Ganguly felt that Saini should the 4th pacer that India should look to. “According to me, this is the best possible team, there’s no guarantee whether we can win the World Cup or not, but in England, you need four pacers. With Hardik’s back giving trouble, we need pacers present and I feel that along with Bhuvneshwar, Jasprit and Shami, we need a pacer like Navdeep Saini. You need an X factor in your team which can be Navdeep,” he said while speaking to India TV.
Saini is in RCB in IPL 2019 and has taken 4 wickets in 5 matches in IPL 2019 so far. The pacer has been consistent with his great bowling speed touching 140 km/hour. He was bought for Rs. 3 crores in IPL 2019 auction. Ganguly also backed both KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant for the World Cup as secondary wicket-keepers.
