Rustomjee-MDFA League: Rahul Mejiyater’s 'tricks for Mangesh

Mumbai: Powered by Rahul Mejiyater’s hat-trick Mangesh Sports Academy garnered full points with a 5-1 win over Ravens FC, Yari Road in a III Division of the Rustomjee-MDFA League, at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel here on Thursday.

Dharmesh Gohil netted the other two goals to complete Mangesh Academy’s big win while Irafan Ansari netted the lone goal for the losers.

Ace Sports Academy got the better of Azad Nagar Utsav Samiti by a 4-1. Sahil Tambotkar netted a brace of goals while Anand Mavalee and Sanket Chandlekar chipped in a goal each. Aakash Malusare got the consolation goal for the losers.

Sameer Bhanji scored the decisive winner as Rock FC got the better of Teresarians SC 1-0.

BPFL to start on Saturday

Twelve teams in shrug it out in the fourth edition of the Borivali Premier Football League (BPFL), organised under the auspices of MDFA by the Borivali Sports Foundation is scheduled, at the St. Francis D’Assisi High School ground, Borivali (West) from Saturday. The teams have been divided into two groups, and the two toppers from each group make it to the last four of the contest. The semi-finals is slated to be held on Saturday (August 3) and the final on Sunday.
