Hyderabad: Keemo Paul, Chris Morris and Kagiso Rabada bowled Delhi Capitals to a 39-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. Delhi Capitals moved up to No.2 after winning their 5th match of the 2019 Indian Premier League, reports India Today. Delhi Capitals have now won 3 successive matches in the 2019 IPL while SRH have lost 3 successive matches. The stunning win was shaped by Paul who whose 3 wickets included the key wickets of Jonny Bairstow and Kane Williamson and Kagiso Rabada who dismissed David Warner and Vijay Shankar off successive deliveries.

Sunrisers Hyderabad had got off to a strong start to their chase of 156. David Warner and Jonny Bairstow added 72 for the opening wicket before Bairstow fell to Keemo Paul. Two overs later, Kane Williamson was spectacularly caught by Rabada off Paul. David Warner was still at the crease but after the top-3, Sunrisers Hyderabad have a fair few young batsmen. Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan were left out and it was the perfect opportunity for Ricky Bhui to make an impact. However, he only managed 7 off 12 balls and became Keemo Paul’s third victim.

Keemo Paul was the pick of the bowlers for Delhi Capitals with figures of 3 for 17 off 4 overs. David Warner hit his 4th fifty of the 2019 IPL but he was done in by Kagiso Rabada for a 47-ball 51. At 106 for 4, the SRH chase had been well and truly rocked. Rabada removed Vijay Shankar off the very next ball of the 17th over. In the 18th over, Chris Morris removed Deepak Hooda and Rashid Khan off successive deliveries as Delhi Capitals edged closer to victory.

It was a sensational win for Delhi Capitals who had struggled all of last season. This win over Sunrisers Hyderabad now takes DC to 2nd in the points tally. Earlier in the evening, Sunrisers Hyderabad did well to restrict a power-packed Delhi Capitals batting unit to 155 for 7. Kane Williamson returned to lead SRH and his tactical acumen was on display immediately. Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan fell to Khaleel Ahmed inside the first 4 overs before Colin Munro and DC skipper Shreyas Iyer (45) staged a recovery with a 49-run stand for the 3rd wicket.
