Dinesh Karthik is facing a lot of flak from cricket fans and former players for denying running a single to Krunal Pandya in the third T20 against New Zealand. While some cricket fans trolled and slammed Karthik, some cricketers criticised his decision of not taking a single. The latest one to respond on the matter is IPL team Mumbai Indians.
Mumbai Indians, which is the home team of Krunal Padnya, also came forward on the matter and took an indirect jibe at Dinesh Karthik for his rejection of changing the strike. On their Twitter handle, Mumbai Indian tweeted about Krunal facing only one ball in the final over despite scoring good runs in the match. “.@krunalpandya24 26 not-out from 13 balls and got to face only 1 ball in the final over,” read the tweet. Karthik denied running a single with Krunal Pandya in order to keep strike when India needed 14 runs in three balls. However, he could not push India to victory after the team lost by 4 runs in the end. Pandya was in a great form in the match hitting big shots and Karthik’s denial of single to him annoyed Indian cricket fans and others. Some also felt that India could have won if Karthik had went for a single.
