Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore will be eyeing IPL trophy against this time when they start their journey against Chennai Super Kings. With being runner-ups three times, RCB can be called as one of the most unlucky teams in the history of Indian Premier League. But will this team under the leadership of national Indian skipper win the IPL trophy this time? here we look at some crucial points in this regard.

Missing Chris Gayle

Since Chris Gayle is out of the team, it will cost RCB firework start in the opening. But there are much chances that it will be taken care of by Parthiv Patel, who have also proved to be a great opener in T20s. Overall, the batting will not be that affected but in matches against KXIP, Gayle could become a threat to RCB with an intention to prove his worth in the match.

Test for Virat Kohli as skipper

Virat Kohli’s captaincy will be on test in the IPL 2019. Although, the star player is captaining the national team in international matches for a long time, he is well supported by others like MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma during such matches. But in IPL 2019, all captaincy depends on him and he has to take crucial decisions at crucial moments.

Brother in support- Ab de Villiers

Ab de Villiers will have more duty on his back after departure of Chris Gayle. His is the other most experienced player in the team and will mostly act as the second player in the lead after Kohli. If Virat fails to perform in a match, De Villers will have to take the responsibility of victory on his shoulders.

Bowling- A worrying issue

The bowling zone has always been a matter of worry for RCB. RCB has lost matches on many occasions due to poor bowling especially during death overs. This time, RCB will have major hopes from Tim Southee, who is a one of great pacers to look upon. The support of Umesh yadav will be very essential, and if he fails to perform, RCB will have a tough time in bowling department.

At the end, it can be said that the Virat-led team definitely have the strength to make it to the playoffs, but becoming the top team at the end will depend on both their bowling and batting efforts. RCB has lost crucial matches which led them to lose the titles as well. This time, the team has to bank on collective efforts, which can only prove essential to become the champions of IPL 2019.
