MS Dhoni’s run-out was a turning point of the IPL 2019 final match, however, there was one more moment which can be called as crucial moment as the of the CSK skipper’s dismissal. This was when Shane Watson was dismissed run-out in the final over, when CSK needed five runs of just three balls. A miss-coordination occurred between Ravindra Jadeja and Watson on the 4th ball of Malinga’s final over, led to the run out.
Unlike MS Dhoni’s dismissal, the replay was not shown on the screen and viewers were confused about the same. Usually whenever there is a run-out especially due to a mix-up between players, multiple replays are shown so that viewers can see what exactly went wrong. But in this case, only the part of the run-out where Watson remained short of the crease and the bails were dislodged was shown. Have a look at the run-out below.

What exactly happened which led to confusion between both the CSK teammates was not shown further in replays. Even Twitter users demanded to see the full reply of the run-out and know how Watson remained short of the crease even when two runs were completely manageable. Here are some of the tweets.
Why @StarSportsIndia not showing Watson’s runout replay. The fact is broadcasters don’t mind if its fixed. They too are just behind money like @IPL and @BCCI #IPL2019Final #MIvCSK

That was a clear double! Can’t imagine Watson and Jadeja fumbled….. and there’s no replay of what really happened between the 2.

Watson’s run-out became the turning point of the last over, when CSK was sure of victory needing just 9 runs off the final over. However, the run-out changed everything and Malinga got a chance to become hero of the match by dismissing Shardul Thakur off the last ball, grabbing the match for Mumbai Indians by 1 run.
