Inzamam to coach Afghanistan for Zimbabwe series

Karachi: Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has reportedly been roped in as the head coach of the Afghanistan national cricket team for the upcoming limited-overs series against Zimbabwe.

According to the Express Tribune, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has confirmed his appointment for the five-match ODI series and following two T20s against hosts Zimbabwe this month.

Inzamam is the third Pakistan cricketer after former wicketkeeper-batsman Rashid Latif and former all-rounder Kabir Khan to coach the Afghans.

The right-hander has scored 8830 runs at an average of 49.60, including 25 centuries and 46 fifties, in 120 Tests.

Meanwhile, in the ODIs, he has amassed 11739 runs at an average of 39.52
