India will take on West Indies to continue their unbeaten campaign so far in World Cup. India will face West Indies in the 34th Match of the ICC Cricket World at Old Trafford in Manchester today, June 27 at 3 pm. After the match against Afghanistan, India has 9 points from five games while West Indies, who lost against New Zealand, are all but out of the tournament with just 3 points from six games.

India are looking to seal a semi-final berth at World Cup 2019 and a win over the West Indies will boost their chances massively. The West Indies, on the other hand, are looking certain to make an early exit, their fine performance against New Zealand still falling short of giving them two points they desperately needed.

West Indies team will be without the services of Andre Russell who was ruled out of the ICC Cricket World Cup due to injury. On the other hand, India will keep Mohammed Shami in the playing XI. Both India and West Indies have rich World Cup history with their rivalry going back to 1983 when Kapil's Devils dethroned the two-time World Cup champions.

India and the West Indies first met in a World Cup match in 1979 with a predictable result. However, the two sides met three times in the 1983 World Cup and India won two out of the three contests, including the final. The West Indies have never beaten India in a World Cup match since 1992, when they won at Wellington. Till now both have faced each other in eight World Cup matches so far. Out of these India have won five times and West Indies have won three matches.
