Both India and New Zealand would aim to build on their ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2019 wins so far when they clash on June 13 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. The battle will start at 3:00 pm (IST).
The Kiwis have been in their best of form and sit at the top in the World Cup 2019 standings. Registering their wins in all the games have made them one of the strongest contenders for the World Cup. The Kiwis heavily rely on their top-order and pace bowlers to pose a threat to their opponents. They had defeated India in the warm up match before this World Cup and would be aiming for the same. Ross Taylor, Kane Williamson, Martin Guptill are in good form and have been successful in giving a solid start to the team. Trent Boult along with other pacers have troubled the batsmen with their pace and swings. And given the weather conditions at Nottingham, they may pose a threat to the Indians.
On the other hand, India have also played like tournament favourites and have registered reaffirming wins over South Africa and Australia. However, they would be wary of the fact that they have to be at their absolute best against Kane Williamson's side which defeated them quite convincingly in the warm-up fixture. As Shikhar Dhawan is out for the game, KL Rahul is likely open with Rohit Sharma to try and give India a full throttle start against the Black Caps. Also, it will be interesting to see whom they include in place of Dhawan. Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Ravindra Jadeja or Vijay Shankar are in talks to play against the Kiwis. Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal have bowled quite well in this tournament and have shown that they can change the course of the match in a considerable manner.
