MS Dhoni is getting better and better with age and this was proved from his superb batting and wonderful wicket keeping during the match against Delhi Capital (DC) yesterday. With the keeping, Dhoni surprised everyone with two stumpings in a same over.
During the 12th over of Ravindra Jadeja, Dhoni pulled off the bails after Chris Morris lifted his legs for a fraction of seconds. The DC captain Shreyas Iyer also faced a similar fate, after Dhoni dismissed him through stumping in the same manner. Have a look at the video below.
Dhoni’s glove work behind the stumps was commendable. When asked about his glove work in the post-match presentation on Wednesday, Dhoni said that it is “something that comes from tennis-ball cricket”. He warned that youngsters should get the basics right before trying to emulate him.
Even with the bat, Dhoni stole the show in the match when he smashed 44 runs in 22 balls, setting a 180-run target for DC on a much slower wicket. CSK’s tight bowling restricted DC to just 99 runs, losing the race to CSK in reaching the top of the points table. However, Delhi Capitals has already qualified for playoffs along with CSK.
