New Delhi : The chairman of BCCI’s pitches and grounds committee Daljeet Singh on Saturday came for his first inspection of the Feroz Shah Kotla track where India will be playing South Africa in the inconsequential fourth cricket Test from December 3-7. According to sources, there has been no instructions as such from the Indian team management demanding any specific sort of wicket. With the series already in pocket, the curators at the DDCA might just be able to breathe easy while preparing the Kotla strip. Daljeet dropped in at the Kotla in the afternoon and then spoke to the DDCA curator Ankit Datta before leaving the stadium premises.

While chief curator refused to speak anything about the kind of track that will be dished out for the fourth Test, it has been learnt that a final decision on the way forward will be taken today. “DDCA’s working president Chetan Chauhan, who is also the in-charge of the ground, will have a meeting with Daljeet tomorrow and something concrete about the kind of track that will be prepared, will be known. In any case, if Daljeet has something in mind, he will need to speak to Chauhan and intimate him about it,” a senior DDCA functionary told PTI.
