New Delhi: Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja took to Twitter on Wednes-day to voice his anger over the flak he got from former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar who had described him as ‘bits and pieces player.’’
"I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner," Manjrekar was quoted as saying by IANS on Monday.
Jadeja did not take kindly to this criticism and asked the former India player to learn to respect people who have achieved something. Jadeja also said in a tweet he has played twice the number of matches than Manjrekar. ‘‘I have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea,’’ Jadeja added.
Despite being named in India's 15-man squad, Jadeja has not played a single match in the ongoing World Cup. He has come in as a substitute fielder a couple of times and made headlines for taking a brilliant catch of England batsman Jason Roy.
