Ollie Robinson, who recently made a sensational Test debut for England against New Zealand will now miss the second Test against the Kiwis at Edgbaston.

The pacer has been suspended from all international cricket as he posted some racist and sexist Tweets a long time ago and investigation in the case is still pending, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Sunday.

Sussex quick Robinson delivered a memorable performance with the bat and ball in the first Test in England jersey but the re-emergence of racist and sexist tweets posted by the 27-year-old back in 2012 and 2013 has overshadowed his efforts.

Making an official announcement, ECB released a statement saying, "England and Sussex bowler Ollie Robinson has been suspended from all international cricket pending the outcome of a disciplinary investigation following historic tweets he posted in 2012 and 2013."

"He will not be available for selection for the LV= Insurance second Test against New Zealand starting at Edgbaston on Thursday 10 June. Robinson will leave the England camp immediately and return to his county," it added.

Robinson also issued an apology when the Tweets re-emerged. In a statement issued after play on Wednesday, he said that he was "embarrassed" and "ashamed" by the posts.

"I want to make it clear that I'm not racist and I'm not sexist," he added. Moreover, England captain Joe Root said that he was also surprised to see the Tweets made by Robinson. "I couldn't believe them, personally," he said.

Root, however, claimed that Robinson had shown a "lot of remorse" that was "very genuine".

The right arm quick bowler led England's attack with 4-75 in the first innings at Lord's and took 3 wickets for 26 runs in the second innings. He also pitched in with the bat and scored a gritty 42.
